The Detroit Chinatown Vision Committee was formed to preserve and restore the historic Detroit Chinatown neighborhood, honoring the history of the On Leong Chinese Merchants Association building and the significance of Vincent Chin's death. Our vision is to revitalize the new community into a broader Pan-Asian business and neighborhood in the Cass & Peterboro area. We will be hosting several annual events including the Detroit Chinatown Block Party.

- Food and Other Vendors and Community Organization Tables (learn about local community service organizations, housing and business opportunities)
- Entertainment (Live DJs, Cultural Performances)
- Book Reading and Signing by Curtis Chin, author of "Everything I Learned, I Learned in a Chinese Restaurant" (his family owned Chung's Restaurant in Detroit's Chinatown)
- Film Screening of "Big Fight in Little Chinatown" by Karen Cho (depicting the struggles of Chinatowns in the U.S. and Canada)
- Art Activities and Family-Friendly Games
- Learn about Detroit Chinatown's history through artifacts, books, self-guided tours, and more
While all Detroit-area businesses are welcome to participate, one of our goals is to attract Detroit based Pan-Asian themed restaurants and businesses to join the Detroit Chinatown business community.
